Karyotyping is the basis of all cytogenetics analysis and provides a unique insight into the human genome, allowing us to scan for inherited chromosome abnormalities and identify characteristic translocations associated with malignant disease. SmartType is a tool for analysing metaphase spreads (cells in mitosis) on your computer workstation, thus providing the possibility of peer review, archiving, data/image distribution and efficient patient record keeping.
